Top 10 Animated Movies

Top 10 lists will be a list of 10 movies that will be published once a week and will either have to do with a movie coming out that week or just what I want to do at the time.

This week I decided to really challenge myself and, in honor of Pixar’s new movie Inside Out being released this week, do my top 10 list on animated movies.  I’ll be honest and up front as a disclaimer: I usually do not like animated movies.  It’s hard for me to be entertained by them unless they bring back some nostalgia from my childhood or have things for adults to enjoy in addition to children. But, without further ado, here are my Top 10 Animated Movies.

10. The Incredibles

I find this one a little overrated.  A ton of people love it.  I may not love it as much as most but it is decent and is all the more relevant in this era of superhero movies.

9. Up

It’s overrated, in my opinion, but is a heartwarming and funny story.  I mean come on, the house is flying with balloons.

8. Shrek

Who knew a movie about an ugly green giant and a talking donkey could be so funny?

7. Cars

Loved racecars as a kid (and still do) so I’m all in on a movie about a talking racecar.  It’s also very funny.

6. Dinosaur

I love dinosaurs.  Did as a kid, do now, and always will.  So I will probably enjoy most movies about them (unless it’s Jurassic Park 3).

5. Any of The Land Before Time movies

4. Toy Story

A great movie and another part of my childhood.  Is equally as good as the next movie on the list but that one beats it out because that’s the one I would choose to watch if handed both right now (and yes, I know people will hate me for it).

3. Finding Nemo

Yes, the movie about the fish that is very entertaining and hilarious for kids and adults.

2. The Lion King

Just missed on number 1.  I think we can all agree that it’s great.  Although it has to be one of the most traumatizing movies ever for kids right? I mean honestly the death of Mufasa, the destruction of the kingdom by Scar’s rule, any scene with the hyenas.  I could go on and on. I’d almost show my kids Die Hard before this one. Almost.

1. The Lego Movie

I don’t even know where to start with this one.  The voice acting (Chris Pratt rocks it), the action, the plot, the humor. It’s all great, maybe even more so for adults than kids.  “Everything is Awesome” about this movie.

Honorable Mentions- Toy Story 2 and 3, Wreck It Ralph, Monsters Inc., Bambi

Comment below and tell me what you think. What’s your top 10? Any movies I missed?
