This review is spoiler-free.
Ladies and gentlemen, a round of applause please for J.J. Abrams. Star Wars is back, my friends.
I know I’m a little late on this, but I wanted to see it twice to give you the best review possible. I have to keep it short to avoid spoilers and trust me, you don’t want this movie spoiled for you. The Force Awakens follows a new generation of characters who, with the help of some of the old characters we know and love, take on the evil First Order, led by Kylo Ren. Trust me, that’s all you need to know about the plot. See the movie to find out more.
I’ve been looking forward to this movie since it was announced almost 3 years ago. I don’t know that I’ve ever had this much anticipation for a movie (or anything for that matter). And it did not let me down in the slightest. Instead, it blew me away. This movie is fantastic. There’s no other way around it. I immediately fell back into the Star Wars universe as soon as the opening crawl came on. It was a blast seeing all the old characters back on screen. Harrison Ford in particular nails his return to Han Solo. It was like he never stopped playing him. The new characters are also great and brilliantly acted. I’ll call out Daisy Ridley as an example because she is amazing in this movie. The story is good and has a lot of twists. I was so intrigued the whole movie and was on the edge of my seat the whole time. The visuals and sound effects are absolutely incredible. While John Williams’ score isn’t as memorable as some of the other movies, it adds so much to certain moments. The music sucks you into what is on the screen at the time.
There are a couple things that I didn’t like that I can’t really get into without spoiling. But the last 45 minutes made me forget all about them. They are so well executed and just blew my mind. The little nitpicks I had didn’t matter after that. Go see this movie. I loved it and, if you are anything close to a Star Wars fan, you will too. I’ve seen it twice and will be going to see it again. I am going to go ahead and say it is the second best Star Wars movie behind Empire Strikes Back. It’s not a perfect movie, but no movie is. Despite the few things I didn’t like, as much fun as I had with this movie, I can’t give The Force Awakens anything lower than 5/5.

Let me know what you thought of the newest Star Wars chapter in the comments. But please keep any spoilers out of there because I will delete the comment. I don’t want to ruin it for anyone.
