Favorite Movie Scenes 1: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Tank Scene

So, I’ve decided to start a new little series here on the site. I’ve been trying to think of new things to do after running low on Top 10 ideas. I may go back to that at some point, but for now I’m trying this: Sharing some of my personal favorite scenes in movies. The first one I’m looking at is the tank scene from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. See it here:

While watching War for the Planet of the Apes, despite the fact I thought it was great, I couldn’t help but notice no scene stood out like this one. It starts off on an intense, yet comical note with apes riding horses firing machine guns. Soon after, apes realize how horrific war is as they are slaughtered by their human enemies who have a touch more experience with guns. You see the ring leader, Koba, rally the apes before the true gold of this scene- when he takes over the tank. It’s an incredible one-shot scene of him jumping on the tank, taking it over, firing the machine gun on top a couple times, before crashing it through a wall. It’s a fantastic scene with impeccable effects. It’s the most memorable scene in a movie full of great moments. And with War still on our minds, I felt like it was the perfect starting scene for this new series.

Let me know what you think of it in the comments.
