Ralph Breaks the Internet Review- Jordan

This sequel to 2012’s Wreck it Ralph sees Ralph attempt to help save his friend’s game from being removed forever. To do this, he must venture into the crazy world that is the internet and face all the horrors it has to offer in order to retrieve a part from Ebay.

Despite the love it gets from most people, I’m not the biggest fan of the first Wreck it Ralph movie. However, that did not stop me from really enjoying the sequel. There are a lot of funny moments in here, mostly dealing with jokes about the internet as well as references to other Disney properties. I’ll never turn down some Star Wars references, and there is a whole section of those which was pretty great. It manages to squeeze a lot of heart in there during down moments as well. I also enjoyed how the movie expanded on the original’s Toy Storyesque concept of video game characters coming to life, making the internet come to life, which is just as terrifying as it sounds.

As is the case with most animated movies, the movie does feel very cliche in both its story and themes. It’s hard to hate on that too much since it is a kids movie after all and you can’t make it but so complicated. I can hate on the length of the movie, though, as it is a bit too long and drags in the middle. The movie also gets a little weird at the end and loses me a bit.

Overall, Ralph Breaks the Internet is an enjoyable animated movie that both kids and adults can get something out of. If you like the first, I’m sure you will like this one. I recommend it to anyone who falls in the category, as well as anyone who just likes a good animated movie.

Ralph Breaks the Internet gets a Positive ROP.
