David Fincher’s World War Z Sequel Cancelled

If you’re a fan of 2013’s World War Z, don’t expect a sequel anytime soon. The planned sequel, which featured Brad Pitt returning and David Fincher directing, has been scrapped. It appears the studio and Fincher could not agree on a budget.

This news is highly disappointing given the fact Fincher is one of the best directors of the past few decades and I would have loved to see his vision of a big budget zombie movie. I’m a fan of the first movie and was interested to see how the story would continue. An eventual sequel is not out of the question, but chances are it would be with a different director.

I feel like this might be a missed opportunity for everyone involved, including audiences. What are your thoughts on this news?
