After the success of last year’s Movie March Madness, we decided to do it again this year. With our increased focus on police related articles on the website, cop movies seemed to be the perfect topic for this year’s bracket. If you missed last year’s tournament it works like this: We nominated 64 movies. This year, the left side of the bracket contains 32 cop movies based on the work of patrol officers and detectives at the local and state level. The right side contains 32 movies based on the work of our federal friends so it’ll culminate in a final cop vs. fed battle in the championship. Once the movies were selected, we took the IMDB score, the Metacritic score, and the Rotten Tomatoes critic and audience scores and averaged them together. The highest rated movies earned the top seeds, while the lowest rates ones earned the low seeds. This method, while unbiased, does create some interesting seeding, to say the least. But besides us selecting the movies, the rest is up to you. You’ll be able to vote each week for what moves on to the next round. You’ll be able to find the bracket and the voting polls for Round 1 below. Before you get started, make sure you follow us on our social media pages to make sure you don’t miss the next rounds (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)! Voting for Round 1 will be open from March 1 through March 5.
