The last big piece of news to come out of Star Wars Celebration was our first look at The Mandalorian, the new Star Wars live action TV show debuting on Disney’s upcoming streaming service on November 12, 2019. While those in attendance at Celebration got to see a teaser, they have yet to release it online, but we did get a little more information and some photos.
The Mandalorian will take place 5 years after the end of Return of the Jedi. It follows a lone gunfighter trying to find his place in the universe following the collapse of the Empire. Pedro Pescal will star as the titular character and he will be joined by both Gina Carano, playing an ex- rebel trooper named Kara Dune, and
Apollo Creed Carl Weathers, who plays a character named Grief that runs a group of bounty hunters. Dave Filoni, Taika Waititi, Rick Famuyiwa, Deborah Chow and Bryce Dallas Howard all came on board to direct episodes, with Jon Favreau as the showrunner.
While we didn’t get a whole lot of new information about the show, I am still very excited to see more and can’t wait for the show’s debut. This is the main reason I will be signing up for Disney+ when it debuts. You can find the photos that were released online below and I will update you should the teaser be released to the public anytime soon.
