Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Reveal Trailer

While on Twitter earlier, I saw something in the trending section that caught my eye. #ModernWarfare was on there, which seemed odd to me given the fact the original game came out way back in 2007. I clicked the link and one of the first things to pop up was a reveal trailer. I watched it and it was clear there was a new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game coming, but I was still confused. Is it a sequel? Reboot? I thought all of the Call of Duty games now took place in the year 3486? So, I did some more digging on the trusty Internet to find all my answers and I’m here to bring you what I found out. Check it all out below:

First of all, the game looks beautiful. The graphics are nearly photorealistic. The trailer leads off with “Actual In-Game Footage”, and while I’m sure these scenes are all from cutscenes and not actual gameplay, it’s still impressive.

In terms of what the game actually is, I discovered it is indeed a reboot of the Modern Warfare series. It is updated to better represent the sometimes morally ambiguous conflicts of today’s age. The developers have said they are looking to bring a level of realism to this installment, something Call of Duty has never featured a ton of.

I’ve never been the biggest Call of Duty fan, but have played all the Modern Warfare games, as well as WW2 from a couple years ago. I always get some entertainment from the story mode and I’m looking forward to seeing what this has to offer. I’ve said before I’m not a huge gamer, but I am getting a little more into it. There are several games coming out this year that I’m really looking forward to. Did you know there is a game coming out based on The Avengers? I discovered that while looking into Modern Warfare a little more. There isn’t any footage yet as far as I could tell, but it sounds pretty awesome.

Anyway, I’m interested to hear from the hardcore Call of Duty fans. Is this something you are looking forward to? Let me know in the comments.
