I know I’m a little late on this as the sixth episode was released today but I wanted to give some quick thoughts before moving on. And in short, I didn’t like it very much.
The fifth episode of the first Star Wars live-action show saw the hero travel to famous Star Wars spaceport Mos Eisley as he looks for work while on the run with The Child. In doing so, he ends up helping a rookie bounty hunter who has taken a job he can’t handle on his own.
The best part of this episode is the setting on Tatooine. Those hoping some famous Star Wars locations would show up will be happy. There’s tons of familiar scenery and characters, and it was nice to spend some time on the planet. However, this was not enough to make up for the fact that this feels like another completely unnecessary filler episode. As good as the show started off, it is beginning to feel like this would have made a perfectly good two-hour movie and has been expanded a little too much. Very little of this episode seems to affect the overall arc of this show, and it feels like you could skip it and still know exactly what is going on. After the first few episodes, I expected the overall story to be the focus, but instead, these are beginning to feel episodic, which is disappointing given the 8 episode season.
I’m charging episode 5 with a Misdemeanor.
Ratings from low to high: Felony, Misdemeanor, 10-4, Positive ROP, Golden Donut
