I’ve been to McDonalds plenty of times in my life. Did I ever care about how it was founded? Nope. Did this movie make me more interested? Ehhh… it tries.

The Founder is about a man named Ray Kroc (Michael Keaton) who does everything he can to steal buy and control McDonalds. This leaves him at odds with the original owners, played by Nick Offerman and John Carroll Lynch.

I bet you didn’t expect to see me review this one did you?

The Light Between Oceans is a drama starring Michael Fassbender, who works on a small, lonely island lighthouse, and Alicia Vikander as his wife.  After several miscarriages, their dream to have a baby seems hopeless.  That is until a boat washes up on the shore carrying a dead man and a baby.  They raise the baby as their own, only to find out her actual mother is still alive.

I actually got to see this movie last week at a free screening, but decided to hold off on the review until the week of its release to make it feel more relevant and hopefully avoid any trouble I could get into from reviewing it too early.

Criminal is about an imprisoned psychopath (Kevin Costner) who is the perfect candidate for an experiment due to a traumatic brain injury he suffered as a child.  This experiment involves the transfer of memories from a deceased CIA agent to his brain, giving him all sorts of abilities.  The CIA needs him to use the memories and abilities to help with a serious national security issue.
