spiderman

The 6th Spider-Man movie in 15 years lead by the third guy to play the character ends up being the best on yet. I honestly didn’t see that one coming.

Spider-Man Homecoming shows us the origin of Spider-Man for the third time, this time skipping over the radioactive spiderbite and Uncle Ben nonsense that has just gotten old at this point. Instead we find Tom Holland as a teenager already settled into his role. We follow him though high school problems and his fight against Michael Keaton, who plays the villain known as the Birdman Vulture.

I know I’m late on this compared to everyone else and you’re all dying to know my thoughts, but I’ve been dealing with college graduation and haven’t had the time to see it until yesterday.  Will my review be worth the wait? Probably not, but here it goes anyway.

Civil War is the third entry in the Avengers series Captain America series as the team of heroes we’ve grown to (mostly) love falls apart after the countries of the world institute measures that would give them oversight over the superheroes.  One side, lead by Tony Stark’s Ironman, agrees with this and signs on, while the other side, lead by Captain America, disagrees and begins operating “outside the law”.  Conflict ensues and we have our movie.

Man, even my Top 10 lists are catching superhero fatigue. Having already done Top 10 Superhero Movies, Top 10 Movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Top 5 Batman and Superman Movies, I’m running out of topics for these lists.  So I’m scraping the bottom of the barrel and looking at the Top 10 Superheroes in movies (and a little Netflix).  The main things I looked at when creating the list were the quality of movies they are featured in and how interesting/enjoyable I find the character.

With Deadpool coming out this weekend, I’m looking at the best superhero movies ever made, a list I’m sure I’ll have to revisit at some point with the 12034595 movies from this genre coming out over the next few years.  I already did a MCU-only list a while back, but then again I had Age of Ultron at #4 on that list so clearly it isn’t my strongest.  Spoiler Alert: it isn’t on this one.  Find out what is below:
