There have been a few trailers recently that have been really good, but I just haven’t gotten a chance to post about them. But boy, we need to talk about this one.
The first full length trailer for Rogue One is finally here. My first thought when watching it was the first half feels a little choppy and unorganized. With that said, this trailer is still amazing. There’s a lot of cool stuff in here, yet the trailer doesn’t give a whole lot away which is always nice.
While I’m not a comic-con person in terms of ever going to one, there’s no denying how huge this past weekend is for movie fans. We usually get our first look at some movies we are highly anticipating. This year was no different. So, here are my thoughts on some of the trailers that were released.
We have a few trailers to talk about today. I kept intending to review the Warcraft one, but didn’t have time. But then the Magnificent Seven teaser came out and I still didn’t have time. Now the first Jason Bourne trailer is out and they have all piled up. So here are my thoughts on each. The trailers are also below, as always.
Another trailer for Suicide Squad has been released so I’m here to talk about it. This trailer is very similar to the first one they released. It showcases a lot of the humor and a lot of the action and that all looks great. This movie just looks like a ton of fun. I love the tone it looks like they are going for. When this movie was announced, I never thought I’d be this excited for it. Judging by the trailers, I don’t know that it will be for everyone, but it looks like I’ll enjoy it.
The Force Awakens came out on DVD and Blu-Ray a few days ago and now we have our first look at the next Star Wars movie, Rogue One. For those that don’t know, this is the first of the “standalone” Star Wars movies, meaning it doesn’t have anything to do with the new trilogy.
Alright, now I’m a little more excited for this movie. The first trailer they released really just confused me more than anything and didn’t really pump me up for it. This one is a little more clear. Who exactly is on each side is shown and the reason for the fight is defined a little better, although I’m still a little unsure about that. I don’t understand how what seems like a little difference of opinion about whether the superheroes should be controlled a little bit turns into a fight where they are trying to kill each other. It seems like a bit of an overreaction and a stretch, but I’ll save too much talk about that until I see the movie.
People always wonder why I usually think remakes/reboots are bad ideas. This right here. This is why.
My god does this movie look terrible. Let me start with a question. How is it that it’s been 32 years since the original Ghostbusters (an amazing movie in its own right), yet the ghosts in that movie look better than the ones in this movie? The CGI ghosts in this trailer look terrible and ridiculous.
This always happens. I do a trailer review only for another one I want to talk about to come out a day later. Oh well, getting to the main point- Warner Bros must have fired the marketing person for this movie because this trailer is 2938493 times better than the last one we saw that gave away the whole movie. It opens with a beautiful fight with Batman taking out some baddies.
The Purge: Election Year
Honestly, my first reaction when seeing this trailer was released was “holy crap they are making another one of these?” It’s not necessarily a bad thing. I’ve actually enjoyed both of the previous movies. I wasn’t sure there was anywhere else they could go with it but the trailer proved me wrong. It looks like another strong and interesting premise in this series I originally thought was going nowhere. The whole idea of “The Purge” is interesting in itself so it isn’t surprising they keep expanding on it. This one brings back Frank Grillo, who was by far the best part of the second movie as the conflicted cop. I definitely don’t have a problem with them making another movie, especially since they are moving in a different direction. I think the trailer gives away a little too much, but am still interested in and excited to see this third installment. Check out the trailer below:
